Hannah Washington

Hannah Washington is an Analytical Linguist in the Sociotechnical Alignment Center (STAC) at Microsoft Research. With a background is in the space of language, broadly construed, as a social and interactive tool, her expertise is in sociolinguistic and pragmatic theory, modeling language variation and change across lexical, morphosyntactic, and phonetic patterns. Within STAC, her research involves the adaptation and application of linguistic theory to the systematization of sociotechnical harms in service of measurement.
