Landscape, a slightly different view
Keith Salmon is a landscape artist who lives in Scotland. Visually impaired, Keith has spent years creating sweeping images on the Scottish highlands. Keith is working with researcher Neel Joshi and others to create an interactive audio and visual installation based on recently developed sonification technology.
Salmon talks about his work, ways in which visual impairment has affected his art career, and his excitement in working with sonification technology.
He illustrates the talk with images of some of the paintings and drawings he has created over the last 20 years as well as photographs taken on some of the numerous walks he has done with his partner and guide Nita in the Scottish Highlands. The talk concludes with an explanation of how he has come to be working on the 9e2 project.
