Tammy Glazer is a Sr. Applied Data Scientist in the AI for Good Research Lab at Microsoft where she uses predictive analytics, computer vision, and deep learning techniques to respond to humanitarian crises, ensure community resilience, promote public health, and combat the spread of misinformation. Her research on the COVID-19 pandemic, including modeling counterfactual preventable deaths, has been featured by various news outlets from NPR to Forbes.
Prior to joining Microsoft, Tammy was a Data Scientist at DrivenData where she helped to bring best practices in machine learning and crowdsourcing to mission-driven organizations. She ran data science competitions and trained models to predict tropical storm wind speeds, segment floodwater, measure snow water equivalent, identify endangered species, and estimate surface-level pollutants using satellite imagery. She has worked at Loon (formerly Google X) and Tableau Software, oversaw impact assessments in Senegal and Liberia with President Obama’s Feed the Future initiative, and completed a Princeton-in-Asia Fellowship in Thailand with Population Services International.
