About
Mason is the Principal Program Manager for Microsoft Quantum – Santa Barbara (Station Q). He is responsible for organizing the research at Station Q and guiding the interactions between the Station Q labs in Santa Barbara, Redmond, Copenhagen, Delft, Sydney and Purdue.
He holds a PhD in electrical and computer engineering, with a background in superconductor/semiconductor systems. He also has extensive experience with electrical device and product development from infrared night-vision detectors and cameras, to mass-produced Microsoft products such as the Xbox One controller and the Microsoft Band. This background positions him well to enhance the collaboration between the theoretical work in Santa Barbara and Redmond with the experimental labs, and to help guide the development of a commercial topological quantum computer.
