Kshitiz Kumar

Kshitiz Kumar is a Principal leader in the Speech and Language AI team at Microsoft. His research focuses on connecting the world through automatic speech recognition (ASR). His recent research interests include multilingual ASR, cross-locale transfer learning,  zero-shot learning, robust speech recognition, and keyword modeling techniques.

He has delivered and contributed to number of speech products at Microsoft, including ASR models for 1st party (Teams, Cortana, Bing, Office, Cortana, Xbox) and 3rd party customers (Azure speech services). He obtained his Ph. D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering department at Carnegie Mellon University in 2011, along with B. Tech. from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in 2004.
