A Celebration of Butler Lampson’s Contributions to Computing
On February 13, 2014, we celebrate Butler Lampson’s 70 years with a day of exciting talks revisiting the history of computer systems and talking about issues of current concern.
Butler has spent many years, at Xerox PARC, at DEC, and now at Microsoft, transforming computer systems. His vision led to the first personal computer, to Internet protocols, to modern text processing systems and much more. He has won numerous awards for his work including the Turing Award in 1992.
Come join us at Microsoft Research New England on February 13, 2014 to revisit the history, to share the excitement of the beginning of modern computer systems, and to find out about the future of computing.
