ACM India and Microsoft Research India hosted a ‘Faculty Summit’ in New Delhi at The India Habitat Centre on February 4th and 5th 2013. The broad theme of the summit was ‘Scaling up Research and Innovation in Indian institutions’. The agenda included talks, joint sessions to lay down the background, and break-out sessions relating to the theme.
The Faculty Summit got together attendees from the top academic research institutions in the country, along with representation from the government and the industry.
Dr. Shashi Tharoor, the Hon’ble Minister of State, Human Resource Development addressed the summit on the first day.
ACM India and Microsoft Research India hope that this summit will pave the way towards identifying actions for the future that the computing community can take up together.
