CVPR took place at Caesar’s Palace from June 26 – July 1, 2016, in Las Vegas, Nevada. CVPR is the premier annual computer vision event and included the main conference and several colocated workshops and short courses. With an international roster of speakers, exhibitors, and attendees, CVPR provides an exceptional opportunity for students, academics, and industry researchers to meet and share ideas and research results.
This year, for the first time, CVPR mounted an expo for industrial and academic exhibitors. Microsoft was proud to be a Platinum Sponsor, and had more than 40 researchers, designers, and engineers in attendance from groups throughout Microsoft: Xbox, Hololens, Bing, and Microsoft Research. We gave dozens of talks and plenty of posters and tutorials, and chatted about projects and opportunities at Microsoft, from pedal-to-the-metal engineering to research in pure mathematics. Andrew Fitzgibbon talks about Sharing our vision at CVPR 2016 on the Microsoft Research blog.
