Today, we’re announcing the general availability of Office 365 Government Secret cloud, which includes our first release of Office 365 Secret capabilities including Exchange, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, and Microsoft 365 Apps. This release is a substantial commitment to bring the most advanced, secure, and compliant productivity and collaboration tools to help secure classified data. We’re ready to assist the United States Federal Civilian, Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), and United States government partners working within the Secret domain with our foremost software as a service (SaaS) capabilities. To learn more about mission support with Office 365 Secret, please reach out to your organization’s mission partners and your Microsoft account team today.

With the addition of Office 365 Secret, we’re offering an Impact Level 6 (IL6) environment in the comprehensive set of Microsoft 365 Government environments to help meet government mission and data needs. Coupled with the availability of Azure Government Secret and Top Secret, national security mission leaders can use the full cloud experience to not only establish an infrastructure platform to collect, process, and operationalize data, but to enable cloud-based collaboration and communication in the classified environment.

Full spectrum of Office 365 Government cloud environments and the data protection standards they support, including state and local government and federal government agencies.

Support mission resiliency with cloud productivity and collaboration

Secure cloud productivity tools can enable greater operational capabilities for our service members wherever they are. This new environment will run the latest enterprise-grade Office 365 Secret productivity, security, compliance, and collaboration applications.

With highly sensitive data, it is vital to ensure data is secure and controlled across multiple applications, devices, and workloads. We worked closely with our government partners to develop a secure and trusted infrastructure to aid this mission-critical workload shift from on-premises to the cloud.

Engage a partner now for successful implementation of the new environment

To get started using this new environment, we recommend that approved customers immediately reach out to their mission support partners and our onboarding teams. This includes partnering with groups like Microsoft FastTrackMicrosoft Consulting Services, and deployment partners to plan out remediation activities for identity, networks, devices, on-premises server upgrades, and a pilot plan for migrations. Early and extensive mitigation planning will help ensure different environmental transition challenges can be addressed and mitigated before a more comprehensive deployment.
