Strengthen your cybersecurity stance with a hands-on workshop
It’s no secret that cybersecurity is a concern for most Americans. More than 15 retailers in the United States have experienced data breaches since early 2017[1]. When consumers shop at their favorite grocery and department stores, they expect their payment and personal information to be secure. A breach in security can damage the trust shoppers have in a brand—consumers may take a break from shopping at compromised stores and 19% say they would quit shopping there altogether.1 A decline in shopping may in turn hurt revenue, causing a panic among stockholders, which continues to trickle down to consumers, causing irrevocable damage to that particular company.
Retailers aren’t the only organizations vulnerable to cyberattacks. The attack on PlayStation Network in 2011 resulted in the hacking of 77 million accounts.[2] The records included a host of private info—full names, purchase histories, credit card numbers, and login/password information. Reports estimate the costs associated with the breach at over $77 million while the PlayStation Network sites were inaccessible for weeks.[3]
Often users don’t know they’re being hacked, and cyberattacks can occur right within a user’s inbox, through phishing e-mails. This was the case in the recent attacks on US universities.2 Information from over 300 universities was compromised due to phishing e-mails where hackers stole 31 terabytes of data, estimated to be worth $3 billion in intellectual property.2 Education regarding phishing and other cyberthreats across organizations is imperative to decrease such attacks, but cybersecurity solutions must keep improving in order to help block future attacks on information and property.
Microsoft helps organizations tackle cybersecurity challenges
Clearly, cyberattacks are on the rise and the threat isn’t going away any time soon. What’s most important is that IT and security departments get ahead of these attacks. In order to do this, they must assess the current state of their cybersecurity solution. There are several questions to ask when starting to assess those needs:
“How do I improve cybersecurity education for my staff and end users?”
“What are our cybersecurity challenges?”
“What security solutions are available to my organization?”
Microsoft and Partners are prepared to answer these questions to help you get a handle on your organization’s cybersecurity challenges—and point you toward the right solutions for you. In a special Security in a Day workshop, you’ll get the information you need to help ensure security, privacy, and compliance with a holistic security solution. You’ll learn how to:
- Build an integrated security solution.
- Understand the cybersecurity maturity spectrum.
- Think about frameworks used to construct security solutions.
- Think about breaking known attack playbooks around malware.
And you’ll see how the Microsoft platform allows security administrators and IT Managers to manage and protect sensitive information with built-in intelligence.
In today’s world of seemingly constant cybersecurity threats, it’s imperative to create a comprehensive security solution that can help counter any impending threat. Join us for a Security in a Day workshop in a city near you.
