Microsoft at Sibos 2016: Day 4
Check out our videos from the final day at Sibos for the latest industry news and developments.
As Sibos comes to a close in Geneva, we look back on a week where the industry at large recognizes that digital transformation holds countless possibilities for financial institutions. At Sibos, Microsoft showcased solutions to help them visualize what they can truly achieve. Throughout the event we shared solutions to reimagine the client experience for a digital world, empower employees with modern productivity suites and digital workstyles, optimize operations through improved insight into risk and operational models, and transform products with open and connected systems and highly-automated digital processes.
Today we share a video of an executive event we hosted at Sibos on ‘how major banks are leveraging innovative digital solutions for business model transformation’. In this video we give an insider’s view on changing the game with a secure blockchain strategy and innovative treasury services – how fintechs and the ‘platformification’ of banking are transforming the business model – and how smartlabs are accelerating digital transformation for banks with start-ups.
Also check out the following videos from executive events we hosted earlier in the week:
Why banks are adopting the trusted cloud for digital transformation
Transforming the development and management of transaction banking products
In these videos we share insights with business executives on the client journey to the cloud and the changing regulatory environment – and the role of new technology solutions in transaction banking product development, including bots, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and blockchain.
During today’s conference sessions, Jayna Bundy, Director of Microsoft Treasury Operations, also presented in the session: Trade digitization: Where are we now? Trade finance involves many different parties and is still highly manually. But digitization of trade finance has and will become a reality. In this session Jayna, joined a panel including senior leaders from UniCredit, Citi, Commerzbank, and OPUS Advisory Services, to discuss the challenges, outline the drivers, and review developments in this area. This discussion builds on the news announcement earlier this week that Microsoft and Bank of America Merrill Lynch are collaborating on blockchain technology to fuel the transformation of trade finance transacting. As part of this collaboration, the two companies will build and test technology, create frameworks, and establish best practices for blockchain-powered exchanges between businesses and their customers and banks.
