Every year on October 10, people around the world come together to celebrate World Mental Health Day. It’s a powerful reminder of our collective commitment to raising mental health awareness and driving meaningful change. For World Mental Health Day 2024, we’re committed to helping you continue to build supportive learning environments. Our social-emotional learning (SEL) resources and activities are designed to empower you to do just that.
Recognized in over 100 countries, World Mental Health Day is more than just a date. It’s a call to action that resonates with communities, schools, and individuals worldwide. In recent years, the spotlight on mental health—especially for young people—has grown brighter. As educators, parents, and community members, we’ve seen firsthand how important it is to address student mental health needs.
The good news? Our efforts are starting to make a difference. Kathleen Ethier, Director of Adolescent and School Health at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, positively notes, “There is still a great deal of work to be done to address the crisis in youth mental health, but the data can really give us some hope that when we come together, we put young people first, we do what is needed, we can see positive change.”
Let’s keep the momentum going. Together, we can make a lasting impact on students’ well-being.
